Competition Requirements and Application
Eligible Concerti
- J. S. Bach - Concerto in D minor
- Mozart - All solo concerti
- Beethoven - Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Chopin - Nos. 1, 2
- Mendelssohn - Nos. 1, 2
- Saint-Saëns - Concerto No. 2
- Schumann - Concerto in A minor
- Grieg - Concerto in A minor
Repertoire Requirements
Preliminaries
Either of the following:
- Specific links to three YouTube performances (three contrasting style periods), or...
- CD or DVD recording containing three contrasting pieces (contrasting style periods)
You may submit a portion of your concerto if you wish, as one of the three selections.
Semi-finals and Finals
Both of the following:
- Live performance of portions of the full concerto from above list, with 2nd piano accompaniment (you must arrange in advance for an accompanist)
- Any solo piece by Theodor Leschetizky
Application Information
Application Deadline
- Feb. 10, 2023 (postmark)
Application Packet Must Include
- Completed application form, signed by teacher and applicant
- Letter of recommendation from teacher
- Proof of age, such as copy of birth certificate
- CD/DVD of or YouTube links to three contrasting works (contrasting style periods); you may include a portion of your concerto if you wish
- $75 application fee, check made out to Leschetizky Association Debut Fund, Inc.
- Picture and bio, for publicity purposes
