Concert Series

The Leschetizky Concert Series features artist members and distinguished guest artists in a full season of recitals, which members may attend for free (except for benefit events!). We have many pianists, of course, but also include vocal concerts and instrumental ensembles, such as our award-winning ensemble-in-residence, the Horszowski Trio. Many of the concerts take place at Tenri Cultural Institute, a gallery on West 13th Street in New York City, where we house the Steinway “B” bequeathed to us by Hilde Wittgenstein, widow of Paul Wittgenstein, one of our founding members.

Special highlights of the concert series include the Leschetizky Birthday Recital, featuring usually a young and up-coming artist, often chosen from among our competition winners. A popular annual event is the Live Music By Living Composers concert, which showcases composers active in our area. Frequently the composers are present to introduce their works and to mingle with audience members and musicians at the post-concert reception.
